Spacious and Classic, with a twist of History.

Built in the 1860s, Newaygo Bed & Breakfast has the oldest wooden structure within the City of Newaygo.  Its history is rich.   The home is believed to have been an underground railroad home by the river's edge, allowing past slaves a passage to safe host homes.  Years later, mob King Al Capone's accountant owned the home.  At that time there were tunnels leading from the home to the restaurants nearby.   During prohibition, the tunnels and home were private party and recreation venues.  120 W. State Rd. has also been a home of ministry, inclusive of being a pastoral home for the Episcopalian church nearby.

Breakfast was amazing! The Newaygo Brewery is just down the street and have a few more quaint places. Fishing all around there is fantastic. Some guides will pick you up at the B&B. Check with Susan regarding guides to book if that’s what you prefer.

We LOVED our stay. We checked in about 5pm and relaxed in the room. We were upgraded our room since we were the only ones there (we went on a weekday). The innkeeper was super sweet . The front porch was beautiful and relaxing. We plan to return! She also accommodated my gluten free needs.

Lovely architectural features, clean rooms with comfortable shared spaces. The Innkeeper is very accommodating. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay here again. A lot of attractions nearby, especially for shopping and a lot of nice art locations.

Wow this place is amazing! Its beautiful-- it's the only place where you can eat in dining room 24/7. The price is incredible; the rooms are amazing; the customer service is top notch by a million miles! You can take pictures here for days -- I've never seen such a nice place at such a good price.

We loved staying here and will be back soon! Quiet and comfortable, and more than accommodating. Hot homemade breakfast with delightful pastries and homemade bread. For only a month in as a new owner, Susan has already made improvements as time allows, but she is way ahead of the game as a hostess. We look forward to our next stay!

What a gem! We were i town visiting my parents who live in Fremont, and treated them to a night at the Inn...we were the ones treated! Susan and her son were a delightful ray of sunshine. Wonderful conversations, accommodations, amenities and even a history lesson! Highly recommend for a getaway. We look forward to our next visit.
